There's a memory at the back of my brain, from way before I knew who I would be now. I could have taken a different path from there and done different things with my life, and sometimes I think to myself, maybe I should have... but deep inside, I know that the person who would have come out the other side wouldn't be me.

The purple orchid is that which is close to my roots yet feels so distant today. They are prized by my country as a major part of their national identity, and yet something I barely see outside of the rare trip to the orchid garden. They're a familiar sight, but one visited about as often as that distant relative you rarely visit anymore. Maybe it's time.

(TL;DR version: this time I thought I'd go slow and simple on the piece. The purple orchid is what came to mind while I was crafting this, it's nostalgic and brings to mind my childhood.)
